In this article we will describe how to create a free QR Code using a freely available tool called QR Code Monkey. The first step to create a QR Code is to have the URL of the web page you would like the code to send people to when it is scanned. In this example we are creating a QR code that asks our customers to write us a Google Review.
Step 1: Go to your Google Business Profile dashboard and click Ask for reviews.
a box will appear that contains your “Review Link”, copy the link so that we can point the QR Code that we are creating to this URL;
Now lets visit the QR Code Monkey website and create a free code. Once the page loads begin by filling in the “Your URL” section, paste your Google Review Link into this field as below;
Leave “Statistics and Editability” turned OFF, or turn it OFF if it is currently ON.
All other defaults in the “Set Color”, “Add Logo image”, and “Custom Design” sections are OK to be left alone. Feel free to play with and test these other features.
You may now press the green button on the right hand side of the screen “Create QR Code”, the default size of 1000 x 1000 pixels is perfect.
I recommend downloading both the PNG format and the SVG format. SVG format will maintain its high quality regardless of size or scale. PNG format is better used in its native size (1000 x 1000) or smaller.
Now you can use your favorite document software or printing website (like vistaprint) and add this QR Code to your design/creation.
Prior to printing make sure to point your mobile phone at the code while using the built-in camera and your phone should allow you to visit the URL embedded in the code, which in our case is the Google Review Link.
You can create small posters, or stickers etc… to place on your equipment or at various points throughout the process of communicating with your customers.
